Expensum

Terms of Use

Last updated: May 27, 2026

Early access service

Expensum is currently offered as an early access service. Features may change, pause, or be discontinued as we improve receipt detection, receipt matching, and expense record preparation.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for connecting only Gmail, card, bank, or other accounts you are allowed to use, reviewing expense records before submitting them, and confirming that records satisfy your employer, client, tax, or reimbursement requirements.

No professional advice

Expensum helps organize receipts and transactions. It does not provide tax, accounting, legal, employment, or reimbursement-policy advice.

Early access quality

Receipt detection, matching, categorization, and exports may be incomplete or incorrect during early access. Users should review outputs before relying on them.

Connected account access

Expensum uses connected-account access only to provide the features you choose, such as Gmail receipt import and transaction matching. You may disconnect accounts in the app or revoke Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Privacy and security

Your use of Expensum is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Security & Privacy page. Those pages explain how Expensum handles receipt, transaction, connected-account, and Gmail-derived data.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse Expensum, interfere with the service, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, upload unlawful or harmful content, use the service to violate others' rights, or connect accounts you are not authorized to use.

No unauthorized automation

You may not reverse engineer Expensum, bypass security controls, scrape non-public parts of the service, overload the service with automated requests, or use unauthorized bots or scripts to access the product.

Paid features

If Expensum offers paid subscriptions or paid features, the price, renewal terms, cancellation terms, and refund terms will be presented before purchase. Unless stated otherwise at purchase or required by law, paid fees are non-refundable.

Service provided as is

Expensum is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every receipt, transaction, match, category, or expense record will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Expensum will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the service.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms as Expensum changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new updated date. Continued use of Expensum after updated terms are posted means you accept the updated terms.

Termination and deletion

You may stop using Expensum at any time. You may request deletion of your account or connected-account data by contacting support. We may retain limited information where needed for legal compliance, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or legitimate business records.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

Account suspension

We may suspend or limit access if we believe an account creates security risk, misuses the service, violates these terms, or could harm Expensum, users, or connected services.
